45th Annual Clam Chowder Cook-Off Returns to the Boardwalk This Weekend
SANTA CRUZ, CA — City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation proudly presents the 45th Annual Santa Cruz Clam Chowder Cook-Off, returning February 21–22, 2026, to the iconic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Now in its milestone 45th year, the event remains the largest and longest-running clam chowder competition of its kind in the nation. Our Santa Cruz tradition draws thousands each year for a weekend of culinary creativity, community pride, and unforgettable flavors.
Over 80 amateur and professional chefs will compete for top honors, serving everything from classic New England-style clam chowder to bold, creative Manhattan-inspired recipes. Guests can sample entries, cast their votes, and enjoy the lively atmosphere of one of Santa Cruz’s most anticipated annual events.
