Credit Card Service Fee

Beginning July 1, 2025, the City of Santa Cruz will extend the 3% credit card service fee (also known as a convenience fee) to all payments made with a credit card (with the exception of utility bill payments). Currently, credit card service fees are charged for tax payments. Per resolution NS-30,473, passed April 22, 2025, the service fee is established to recoup transaction costs. Customers can avoid paying the fee by paying with a check or cash.
