The City of Santa Cruz invites the community to Touch-A-Truck, a free, family-friendly event on Wednesday, May 20, from 12–2 p.m. at 526 Seabright Ave. in the Day’s Market Liquors and Deli parking lot.

Touch-A-Truck offers kids and adults the opportunity to climb aboard and explore the heavy equipment that builds, maintains, and powers Santa Cruz every day. Attendees can experience City vehicles up close, meet the operators behind the machines, and learn more about the work that keeps the community running.

The event will also feature the annual Equipment Road-e-o, where City crews demonstrate precision driving and equipment operation skills through a live competition.

The event is free and open to the public. Registration is not required, and walk-ins are welcome.

Touch-A-Truck is held in recognition of National Public Works Week, a nationwide celebration of the people, infrastructure, and essential services that support communities every day. The week recognizes the professionals who maintain roads, water systems, storm drainage, sanitation, public facilities, and other critical infrastructure that keep cities running safely and reliably.
