Proposed City Charter Amendment
Per California Elections Code 9255, Charter amendments must be approved by the voters at a General Election.
Background: The City Clerk presented a public hearing item at the April 14, 2026 meeting for the City Council to review proposed amendments to the full City Charter. No edits were made at that meeting, and the next public hearing was scheduled for May 26, 2026. Following the May 26 meeting, one final item will be heard on June 23, 2026, at which time the City Council can adopt a resolution calling an election on November 3, 2026. No further edits can be made after the June 23, 2026 action is taken.
