Booking Policy

After review by the Santa Cruz City Council’s Facilities Subcommittee, the following “Booking Policy” has been established for the Civic Auditorium as a means to accomplish its Mission Statement and goals. As such, the intent is to increase availability of dates to producers of series and multiple-date events to increase revenues and reduce City subsidy.

Level I

12 Months Advance Booking: For users producing 3 or more “Gross Percentage Fee” events at the Civic within a year, meeting the minimum gross percentage. [“Gross Percentage Fee” outlined in Civic Fee Structure]

Note: Minimum Gross Percentage Fee Requirement: $1000 per event for For-Profit and Non-Profit producers and $500 minimum for City Non-Profit producers to qualify for levels I and II.

Level II

6 Months Advance Booking: For users producing 3 or less “Gross Percentage Fee” events per year meeting the minimum gross percentage.

Level III

6 Weeks Advance Booking: For users producing non- “Gross Percentage Fee” events at the Civic.

  • Producers can place holds in advance of the assigned level, but are subject to bumping by producers in a higher level.
  • Holds are placed on a first come, first served basis. Civic Management will make the final decision over conflicts in dates.
  • Producers may move up one level by paying the minimum gross percentage, due at the time of confirmation.
