On Saturday, May 30, at approximately 1:45AM, officers with the Santa Cruz Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian near N. Pacific Ave. in Santa Cruz.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and subsequently succumbed to their injuries.
The driver involved fled the area following the collision. Through the course of the investigation, officers located and arrested the suspect. The individual is currently in custody and is being charged with vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run related offenses.
