The City of Santa Cruz is now accepting applications for the FY2027 Public Event Grant Program, offering financial support of up to $2,500 per event (up to 50% of eligible City fees).
The program supports events that contribute to the vibrancy, well-being, and economic vitality of the Santa Cruz community. Public events play an important role in strengthening social connections, supporting local businesses, and fostering community pride.
The application window is open from March 6 through April 6, 2026 for events taking place between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027. Grant awards will be announced by June 8, 2026.
Organizations and individuals hosting eligible public events within Santa Cruz city limits are encouraged to apply.

Grant Overview
Funding available: Up to $2,500 (maximum 50% of City fees)
Eligible events must take place within City limits
Events may be new or previously established
Events must be held on public property
Applicants must submit both a Public Events Grant Application and a Public Events Permit Application
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Grant awards are contingent upon the annual approved budget and available funds.
