The City of Santa Cruz is seeking a new Prohousing Designation through the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD).
About the Program
The Prohousing Designation Program recognizes jurisdictions that support housing production and affordability through local policies and programs. Designated jurisdictions can receive priority funding, incentives, and access to grants, helping to meet regional housing needs and reduce development barriers. The City is releasing its draft Prohousing Designation Application for a 30-day public review and comment period on May 20, 2026.
